Linda Isaacson, DVM

Dr. Linda Isaacson is the proud owner of Prospect Heights Animal Hospital. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1999 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 2003. After veterinary school, she completed an intensive one year small animal internship at Manhattan Vet Group (currently called Fifth Ave Vet Specialists in Manhattan).

Dr. Isaacson has practiced at several hospitals in the New York area, most recently serving for five years as the Medical Director at Manhattan Vet Group. She lives in Brooklyn and opened the practice to be close to home.

   

Amy Kurowski, DVM

Dr. Amy Kurowski is pleased to join the staff at Prospect Heights Animal Hospital.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Vermont in 1998 and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2002.  After completing a comprehensive internship at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan in 2003,  Dr. Kurowski practiced small animal, avian and exotics medicine at St Marks Veterinary Hospital in the East Village for over 7 yrs. Dr. Kurowski enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but has a special interest in surgery, geriatric patients, and reptile medicine.  She currently lives in Brooklyn with her two cats.

   

Christine Moore, DVM

Dr. Christine Moore graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in biology from State University of New York at New Paltz and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University after completing a clinical year at Lousiana State University. She then completed a small animal medicine and surgerical internship at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan in 2007. After her internship, she practiced for over three years at the Bergh Memorial ASPCA in Manhattan and currently lives in Brooklyn with her pitbull mix "Milo".

   

Kimberly Kahn, DVM

Dr. Kimberly Kahn graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Amherst College in 1998. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 2009. Since completing a small animal medicine and surgery internship at NYC Veterinary Specialists (now Blue Pearl Vet Partners), she has worked in private practice (Gotham Veterinary Center in Manhattan) and shelter medicine (Animal Care and Control of NYC). She is certified in veterinary acupuncture through IVAS. Her veterinary interests include behavior and pain management. She lives in Manhattan but enjoys spending time in Brooklyn!

   

Matt Katz, DVM

Dr. Matt Katz graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 2003. After a five year detour in the business world, he continued his education at the University of Massachusetts before receiving his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University. Since graduating, he has been working in small animal general practice in the tristate area, with professional interests that include internal medicine and pain management. He currently lives in Brooklyn with his fiancé, as well as their amazing dog (Griz), and cats (Cheeto, Dewey, Pickle, and Moo).

   

Carmen Scippa, DVM

Dr. Carmen Scippa is originally from Houston, Tx. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biology from Texas A&M university. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from St. George's University in 2015 after completing clinical rotations at the University of Georgia. While in school, she rescued her 3 legged cat, Nutmeg. Her professional interests include surgery and oncology. In her free time, Dr. Scippa enjoys seeing live music, hiking, scuba diving and discovering NYC.  

   

Bess Ferguson, DVM

Dr. Bess Ferguson graduated with a Bachelor of Science in human biology from Michigan State University in 2009. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in 2014 after completing a clinical year at Purdue University. Since graduating, she has practiced as a small animal veterinarian in Staten Island. Dr. Ferguson currently lives in Brooklyn, where she happily shares a studio apartment with her boyfriend, 3 dogs, and a cat.

   

Danielle Woolf, DVM

Dr. Danielle Woolf graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Veterinary from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2012 and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Since graduating, she has practiced small animal, emergency and exotics medicine in Long Island and Queens. Her veterinary interests include exotics, internal medicine, dermatology, nutrition and emergency care. Outside of work she enjoys traveling, cooking, and exploring Brooklyn and Manhattan. Dr. Woolf currently lives in Brooklyn, where she shares an apartment with a bearded dragon and dog-like cat.

   

Leanna Shuttleworth, DVM

Dr. Leanna Shuttleworth graduated from the University of Nottingham, in the UK, with a certificate of pre-veterinary science in 2012. She then continued on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from St. George’s University in 2017 after completing a year of clinical training at Cornell University. Her professional interests include internal medicine, preventative medicine and surgery. In her free time, Dr. Shuttleworth enjoys traveling, mountaineering, running and swimming, and currently lives in Brooklyn with her boyfriend.

   

Melanie Shapiro, DVM

Dr. Melanie Shapiro graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Brandeis University in 2012 and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in 2016. Following graduation, she completed a one year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Veterinary Emergency and Referral Group in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Shapiro appreciates all aspects of veterinary medicine, but she has particular interests in internal medicine and emergency/critical care. Outside of work, she enjoys dancing, spending time in the sun, and finding new and exciting places in NYC.
